The Gårdskulla solar project has received a decision from the ELY Centre for Uusimaa that the environmental impact assessment procedure (EIA) will not be applied to the project

The construction of the Gårdskulla solar project is not subject to the assessment procedure under the Environmental Impact Assessment Act (252/2017). The ELY Centre for Uusimaa considers that the construction of the project as presented is unlikely, taking into account its location, characteristics and the nature of the impacts and the mitigation measures, to cause significant adverse environmental impacts as referred to in the EIA Act, alone or in combination with other activities. The project does not require the initiation of an EIA procedure based on a case-by-case assessment.

The project is now progressing with the presentation of the local plan participation and assessment plan (OAS), additional studies and the preparation of the final local plan. Public events will be organised at different stages to collect opinions from local residents. The events will be announced separately.
